This contribution will provide children and youth with hands-on STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) in the London Children’s Museum’s future space.

"We are so grateful to Strik, Baldinelli, Moniz Ltd. for their generous support of the new London Children’s Museum and the new Maker Space,” said Kate Ledgley, Executive Director at the London Children’s Museum. “This donation will help us better serve older children and youth by providing them with critical access to specialized technology, open-ended engineering projects, and endless opportunities for innovative discovery.”

The Maker Space is located within the Discovery Lab, one of eight new galleries in progress at 100 Kellogg Lane. It aims to engage children, youth, caregivers, and educators in STEAM disciplines through interactive activities and educational programs. The Maker Space will offer young people access to hands-on tools, encouraging them to solve real-world problems, explore their interests, and develop confidence.

The Maker Space is designed for collaboration, teamwork, and communication, helping children and youth build essential skills for future success. Designed with the input of over 500 children and families consulted during museum planning, this exhibit intends to meet the community’s demand for more experiential learning.

“Supporting the new London Children's Museum and the Maker Space is an important and meaningful endeavour for our company,” said Aaron Strik, Principal at Strik, Baldinelli, Moniz Ltd. “Many of our staff have young children who will benefit from the museum's educational and engaging exhibits. The museum holds a special place in our hearts as a cherished part of our own childhoods. By supporting this initiative, we not only invest in the enrichment of future generations but also honour a beloved institution that has been integral to our community's heritage. This donation aligns with our company's purpose and demonstrates our commitment to supporting family-oriented, community-based projects."

The London Children’s Museum is in the final phase of construction at 100 Kellogg Lane, which includes exhibit fabrication and installation. This phase is expected to be completed in late fall 2024. More than 150,000 visitors are anticipated to visit the London Children’s Museum annually in its new home.
