The London Children's Museum extends our gratitude to the Sifton Family Foundation for their generous $30,000 gift supporting our Access to Play program.
This donation helps ensure all children and families have access to enriching, play-based learning experiences essential to their healthy growth and development.
This gift from the Sifton Family Foundation supports three essential accessibility programs at the London Children’s Museum. Monthly Sensory Friendly Evenings at the London Children’s Museum are designed for children with autism spectrum disorder, physical or cognitive disabilities, and sensory processing considerations. With limited attendance, these evenings provide a quieter museum experience, turning down the noise, crowds, and stimulation of a typical day. This program supports over 400 children and their families each year.
With funding from the Sifton Family Foundation, the London Children’s Museum reaches new children and families through Community Partner Nights. These events are delivered in collaboration with partner organizations directly serving equity-seeking populations. Community Partner Nights provide hands-on learning opportunities, engaging programs, and interactive exhibits to over 300 individuals annually.
Lastly, this grant from the Sifton Family Foundation provides 43 children with a full week of summer day camp. This invaluable experience offers an unforgettable week of fun, friendship, and learning, allowing children to make new friends and create lifelong memories, regardless of their financial circumstances.
The London Children’s Museum believes that every child, regardless of circumstance, deserves access to learning opportunities that support their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We are thrilled to partner with the Sifton Family Foundation in support of this cause.
As the first children's museum in Canada, the London Children's Museum has been dedicated to providing powerful play experiences for over 47 years. We are so grateful for the support of donors like the Sifton Family Foundation, without whom we could not deliver on our mission.
Thank you, Sifton Family Foundation, for your commitment to enriching the lives of children and families through the gift of play!
"We are incredibly grateful to the Sifton Family Foundation for supporting our Access to Play initiatives. Time and time again, we hear from the community about the value these programs provide.
